According to the World Meteorological Organization El Niño conditions have started to develop for the first time in seven years after three ‘stubborn’ years of El Nina, the opposite effect. These conditions are developing in the tropical Pacific. The bushfires in Australia, wildfires in Greece, Canada and Hawaii, torrential rains and floods in Nevada, Turkiye, Greece, Bulgaria and similar incidents elsewhere are being attributed to El Nino. UNDRR reveals that July was the hottest month ever recorded on earth.
